Trails
The Two Harbors Trail Alliance stewards a network of non-motorized trail systems that support year-round outdoor recreation in and around Two Harbors. These trails serve a wide range of users and reflect our commitment to access, stewardship, and shared use.
Erkki Harju Trail System
The Erkki Harju Trails offer ski and recreation trails that provide important winter and shoulder-season access for the community. This system supports Nordic skiing and other recreational uses and is maintained to provide reliable, enjoyable conditions throughout the season.
Bigfoot Trail System
The Bigfoot Trails support snowshoeing and fat biking and offer an accessible way to enjoy winter recreation in the Two Harbors area. These trails are maintained with an emphasis on shared use, safety, and seasonal conditions.
Lake County Demonstration Forest Trails
In partnership with Lake County, the Trail Alliance maintains the Lake County Demonstration Forest trail system. These trails support mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and fat biking and provide multi-use opportunities across changing seasons.
Shared Use & Stewardship
All of the trail systems we support are non-motorized and designed for shared use. We encourage responsible trail use, respect for seasonal conditions, and care for the natural environments that make these trails possible.
Trail Conditions & Updates
Trail conditions can change with weather and seasons. We encourage users to check for updates before heading out and to help care for trails by following posted guidelines.
Looking Ahead
We continue to work toward improved connectivity and future trail opportunities, including the proposed Two Harbors Trail Center, which would bring multiple trail systems together and expand access for a variety of users.
